The food was a pleasant surprise after my first impression of the scruffy-looking building. Breakfast was generous and freshly cooked, and I enjoyed the evening meals too. The serving staff were lovely, but sticky tables, dirty menus and glasses let the place down. The room could use a refurbishment, though the bedding and towels were clean and the bed was really comfortable. It was quite busy, so maybe they feel they don't need to improve the building.

We had a lovely family meal here. The children's dishes were great, and everything came out nicely presented in generous portions. The homemade chips were really good, the lasagne came with a very nice salad, and the steak ciabatta with onions was lovely too. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Thank you!

Breakfast was a great start to the day, with amazing cooked food. The room was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Lorraine gave me a lovely welcome and made check-in easy. Big thanks as well to DEB, who helped me book the room months ahead. What lovely staff, highly recommend staying here when visiting Anglesey. ❤️

We chose this place because it's dog friendly and close to the port at Holyhead. There's a car park outside for patrons. We collected our keys from the bar, one for the room and one for the front door, so we could come and go freely. The rooms are up a steep flight of around 15 steps from the foyer. The bedroom was cramped and smelled musty, so we opened a window straight away. There was too much furniture for the space, and the narrow gaps beside the bed only just fit a bedside cabinet. With a chest of drawers, dressing table and stool as well, there wasn't much room for our bags or the dogs' bed and bowl. The kettle and cups looked dirty, so I washed them before using them. The bed's springs creaked and could be felt whenever we moved. We'd planned to spend the evening in the bar, but the crowd was so noisy and rowdy that we walked a short way up the road to The Valley for a couple and stayed there instead. After driving over 350 miles, I was tired and had hoped for a good night's sleep before another 2.5-hour drive after getting off in Dublin the next day. I slept badly and wasn't looking forward to the drive home. Next time we'll stay at The Valley.

My husband and I just enjoyed lunch here. The food came piping hot and the service was excellent.
