Eversley Hotel

Breakfasts were delicious, but evening food is limited to bar meals since there’s no restaurant. I had a tasty curry, and they also had bolognese and pizza. The hotel is old and full of character, with no frills, but it was comfortable and welcoming. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the owners and staff were very friendly. There’s an outdoor pool, but it rained almost every day of our August holiday, so we couldn’t use it. That was the main reason we’d chosen the hotel.

It’s a friendly, very nice place to stay. The rooms were clean, comfortable, well appointed and full of character. A quintessential seaside hotel. I hope we can return before too long.

The family who own and run the hotel have had the house for years, and there’s some history to it. They’re wonderful people who are always ready to help. My room was very large, bright, clean and comfortable. I was there at the end of the season, so the pool was closed, and I didn’t ask about the other fitness facilities. I had a delightful time and can wholeheartedly recommend it as a lovely place to stay. You’d be hard pressed to find somewhere much closer to the beach, though be prepared for a fairly steep climb back up.

We loved the character of this grand old place, even if some of it feels a little dated. Karen, who runs the family B&B, was a wonderful host. The Eversley is beside the Botanical Gardens, with lovely sea-view walks nearby, and the town centre is only a short stroll away. The outdoor pool was warm enough for a swim in May, with plenty of seats around it. I’d happily recommend it.
