We walked from Laurels campsite down the road to the Quarryman, where we had a couple of pints and some food. Both the food and service were good. We didn’t stay in the rooms. We’re going back for dinner tonight.

The food was the best we had all week in Cornwall: hot, tasty and good value. I liked the short menu, since it meant there wasn’t a long list to work through. The bar staff and the woman who brought our food were brilliant, helpful and knowledgeable, and made my family feel welcome and relaxed. It’s a traditional, old-fashioned pub with a good pint and excellent customer service.
We’ve just got home after two weeks here. The bedroom had a spectacular view across the Camel Estuary to Padstow, and I spent quite a while just looking out. The cottage is on the edge of Wadebridge, with a couple of big supermarkets nearby, and The Quarryman Inn is literally 30 steps away. The food there was good and the staff friendly. Inside, it was charming, comfortable and laid out well. The chairs were lovely to sink into after a day out, and the kitchen had everything we needed. I’d highly recommend staying here.
You can see the river from the upstairs bedroom.
The best place to eat for miles around.
