Bridge on Wool

The pool table is back, which was a good start when I popped in with my daughter two years after the pub reopened under new management. I asked to see a menu, but the bartender said they don’t do food, only drinks. What a pleasing change. It’s well worth a visit to sit with a drink without food constantly coming out. Years ago, an old mate said pubs had become eating houses. Bridge On Wool is now a drinking house, and I think that’s brilliant. I used to call in whenever I came to Wadebridge, always got a warm welcome and friendly service. After the closure and reopening, I stopped coming because the pool table had gone and more tables for food had taken its place. For me, a pub isn’t all about food.

Amanda and her team are very welcoming, and there’s a good atmosphere. A great pub with reasonable prices, definitely worth a visit.

Amber behind the bar was absolutely fabulous and a real credit to the place. The evening before, everyone had been friendly and accommodating, but today was a completely different experience. Two bar staff spoke to my partner in a disgusting way. The young man in the flat cap was great, bless him. If the regular staff are on, I'd avoid coming on a Sunday.

A friendly locals' pub. I came in to watch the football, and my team won.
