We had three dogs with us, and the staff quickly sorted a bigger table as we came in. The service was five stars. We stopped for a carvery on the way back to Falmouth from Bude, and the food was incredible. The price looked above average at first, but the meat was genuinely top quality, tender and full of flavour. If I remember right, I tried beef, turkey, pork and gammon, all cooked and seasoned perfectly. We'll be back for another carvery soon. If you're passing through on a Sunday, you'd be silly not to stop. See you soon. Dave and Amber

The gravy and condiments were already waiting on the table when we got back, which was a nice touch. The carvery costs a bit more than an average one, but it isn't average. There was loads of choice and everything was well prepared; it's probably the best carvery we've had. The young chef was generous with the meat, so I actually got a portion that made me happy, which is rare. From the moment we arrived, the young team and manager were welcoming, friendly and attentive. You should be proud of them. We came away feeling very well looked after, and they helped make my birthday great.

Our numbers changed a bit because of our own mix-up, but the staff at The Halfway House Country Inn quickly added a couple of places when we arrived. They kept us going with tasty appetizers while we waited for starters. Everything came out quickly, and the food was excellent quality with huge portions. I was eyeing everyone else's dishes and would have tried them all if I hadn't already loosened my belt. The staff were so friendly. We'd definitely recommend it and come back when we're in Cornwall.

The carvery was the star, with lots of choices and good quality throughout: beef, pork, chicken, gammon, nutroast, crispy roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, red cabbage, bread pudding, carrots, peas, parsnips, pigs in blankets, crackling, sweet potato mash, mustard cabbage and more. We went with a vegan and a dog, and both were catered for really well. The team were attentive and easy to connect with, and the place feels family-run and people-focused. It's got classic pub decor, too, and the roast was spectacular. First time here, booked after reading reviews. We arrived at 12:30 and the car park was nearly full, which was a good sign. Thanks, Halfway House team. Hope we make it back one day.

They were so welcoming throughout, even though the place was packed. The young waitress and her mum, whose names we sadly didn't catch, went out of their way to look after us and found us a table. When we mentioned we were out of milk at our caravan, they kindly put a little bottle together for us to take away. After a long, difficult day, this beautiful place made things better. The food and service were second to none. The chips were perfectly crisp, the beef brisket burger was amazing, and my wife's roast chicken and veg was delicious. We'd definitely return and recommend it for tasty food at reasonable prices and caring service. Thanks again!
