The extra walk from Chollerford was about 5 km and pretty pleasant, with only the last stretch on a quiet country road. Getting back to The Wall path the next morning meant a steep uphill climb, manageable but possibly tough for some. The hosts were happy to drive us back to the route or pick us up if needed. We stayed here while hiking Hadrian's Wall. Our room was spacious and lovely, with a great bed, quality bedding and the best shower we had on the four-day trip. It was also very quiet. Breakfast was served at a shared table. There wasn't as much choice as elsewhere on our trip, but what was offered was good. The grounds were beautifully kept, and the friendly owners were very helpful. I'd recommend staying here even though it's a little off the route.

We were welcomed at Errington House with a pot of tea, which was a lovely touch. The room was clean and spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, with homemade food. It's a peaceful rural spot, yet Hexham is only about 15 minutes away.

The hosts were so helpful and accommodating, and breakfast was delicious. We had a charming room full of character in this gorgeous property, set somewhere beautiful and peaceful. We'd happily stay here again on our next trip to Northumberland.

Staying in the house felt like a real Northumbrian experience. It's a lovely home, and the hosts take pride in looking after people while keeping things relaxed and welcoming. They're friendly, knowledgeable and interesting to talk to. Highly recommended.
