We stayed three nights and were really impressed. Jay was quick to answer the phone, and the service was great, including the little extras we asked for. The room was spacious and nicely decorated, there was parking on the drive, and we didn’t hear other guests. It’s easy to get to the surrounding areas. We did hear some teenagers riding motorbikes around on the first night, though. That seems like an issue for the local police and Council. I was surprised by the negative reviews.

The thin walls were the biggest problem. We could hear everything, with doors slamming and people talking loudly, especially at night, and some guests didn’t seem to consider others. The room itself was small, nicely decorated and very clean, thanks to Diane. But it was extremely cold, and the bathroom was freezing, which made me so uncomfortable. It could be a nice place if they sort out the heating and noise.

I didn’t feel comfortable, so I stayed only long enough to book somewhere else and left. The room smelled damp, had marks on the walls and ceiling, and the ceiling light had exposed wires. It’s a semi-detached house in a less than desirable area. Parking was on the road, and I had to leave my car down the street in front of someone else’s house. The stairs were very steep, making it hard to carry luggage up. They took a £50 deposit the day after I booked, though I’d only been there half an hour and had just sat on the edge of the bed. I still haven’t had a refund. I messaged the manager about the accommodation quality and got no reply. Booking.com also contacted the property about my complaint and got no response. It was misadvertised, and they took money afterwards when they shouldn’t have. Avoid.

We booked Anson Studios for 28-30 September. The apartment was damp and cold, with no heating; the fridge leaked onto the kitchen floor, and the place wasn’t clean. Some light bulbs were missing, the ones there were cheap, and the carpet was frayed. The electricity went off in the evening. The contact number went straight to voicemail, and nobody replied to my messages. We couldn’t book anywhere else by then. The power was still out the next morning, and another voicemail got no response. We left before the second night. I’ve emailed the manager and booking.com and haven’t heard back. No refund yet either.
