Lulworth Lodge

Breakfast was a highlight of our three-night birthday stay at Lulworth Lodge. There was a good menu selection as well as buffet items. I had smoked salmon on sourdough with a poached egg, and my wife chose the Dorset breakfast. Both came quickly and were delicious. We also had dinner, which I’d recommend if you’re there on a Friday or Saturday. After seeing the haddock and chips come out, we both chose that over the Jurassic burger and were glad we did. It was perfectly cooked and full of flavour. The key lime pie and banana parfait were both spot on too. We stayed in the Pond View room, overlooking the pond with a lovely view of the cove. It was clean, warm and comfortable, with a large double bed and tea and coffee provided, just right after a long journey. We were welcomed warmly, checked in without fuss and shown straight to our room. Thanks to all the staff, and especially for the thoughtful complimentary birthday drinks. We’re already looking forward to another visit.

The location is fantastic, with beautiful walks nearby and the beach sauna just a short walk away. Being dog friendly made those walks even better. Our room had a beautiful view of the cove, and we were told it’s due to be refurbished, which should improve the view further. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the food was excellent. Great place, well worth a visit.

Lulworth Lodge was comfortable and spotless, and the staff were warm and hospitable. This was one of our best midweek getaways, surrounded by vast greenery, calm ocean, limestone rocks, and the natural sights of Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door. We didn’t get to try the famous Nordic sauna, but we’ll definitely visit again.

We felt like we were in the film The Holiday, with the seafront just a couple of minutes away and gorgeous walks right on the doorstep. Our Christmas stay at Lulworth Lodge was beautiful, with cosy, spacious rooms and all the amenities we needed. The food and drink were wonderful, and the Dorset breakfast was a particular highlight. The hospitality was the best part. Clare, Edward and Radu were brilliant from the moment we arrived. Clare, thank you for making our Christmas so special. I couldn’t recommend this place more for a quiet, cosy and picturesque getaway!
