The Hive

Our daughter still talks about the daytime activities, Starland crazy disco and evening entertainment all year long. She had a brilliant time, and the pool session with its wave machine and slide was fun too. We’ve now stayed at Warmwell four times with our four year old. This April we spent four nights in lodge 237, which was clean, beautiful and had everything we needed. Reception called the morning after check-in to ask if all was well. We had no issues, but it was a nice touch and would’ve made it easy to raise any. The park is very clean and well maintained, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Mel deserves a shoutout for helping us choose the right lodge with everything we needed. We ate at the restaurant a few times. The food wasn’t as good as we’d had before, though the Fish & Chips were great and the Fully Loaded burgers were very good. I’d recommend trying one during your stay. See you again soon!

We had a great holiday and are looking forward to coming back. The park’s woodland setting is lovely, and our six berth lakeside lodge was nice, though getting to it meant crossing a bridge. We enjoyed some lovely restaurant meals, with really good food and polite, friendly staff. The chip shop food was cooked nicely too. We also went to the shows and quizzes. The Troupers work really hard, and we loved the new glam and classic rock show. The crew are very talented.

The kids loved the Ringos, which are a definite must, and their skiing lessons. There are plenty of dog friendly cafes nearby, and it’s handy that pets are allowed in the restaurant area and have their own wood park, though that space is a bit small. The surrounding area was beautiful. We had a great time as a family, but we hadn’t realised how steep the hills are between the clubhouse and the rest of the site. My mum is recovering from a heart bypass and currently struggles to walk. We mentioned this at check-in, but the receptionist didn’t seem to care. WiFi in the lodge was absolutely shocking, and we could barely get a signal in the bar areas either. This place seems great for a young family, but because of those issues we faced, I wouldn’t return to the complex.

Josh in the restaurant really stood out. He was consistently polite, positive and enthusiastic, and always offered to help with our meals and drinks. The chefs put out great food every day, and I’d recommend almost anything on the menu. The other staff were amazing too.
