YHA Lulworth Cove

Our running group spent a weekend here. It was a very clean, comfortable hostel with nice decor and very comfortable beds. The area was quiet, with routes and local pubs easy to get to. We’d definitely stay again.

I’d never stayed in a YHA before, and this was a pleasant surprise. It was lovely and warm, which was very welcome in February, and the beds were comfortable. The location suited the celebration we were attending. There weren’t any en suite facilities, which was a shame, though I guess that’s normal. The vanity unit in the room was a welcome feature.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the place was spotless and well organised. The kitchen had plenty of equipment. I catered for myself, so I didn’t try the breakfast. It’s handy for walking the South West Coast Path, and there’s a good bus service. Hopefully dorms will be introduced soon, as it’s a bit pricey if you’re travelling solo.

We spent the weekend walking the Jurassic Coast, and this was a great place to rest at night for a good price. The hostel sits on the edge of town, next to a nice pub down the street with a great cider list. Staff were very friendly, breakfast was nice, and they even packed us a lunch for the walk for £5.
