The cottage’s location was convenient, near family who were staying locally, but that was the only real positive. The accommodation fell short of what we expected and wasn’t clean or well maintained when we arrived. There was mould throughout the bathroom and shower areas, grime on the fixtures, and a dirty bathtub. Dust and debris were visible behind furniture and along the skirting boards. The kitchen extractor and other surfaces were greasy and dusty. The sofa bed wasn’t fit to sleep on, so the mattress had to go straight on the floor. We were given only two towels, which wasn’t enough. The listing didn’t match the place, and the cleanliness was below basic expectations. This wasn’t something that could’ve been sorted during the stay. Looking back at the reviews, the plug is still dirty from June 2024.

A quiet little cottage right in the middle of town, with everything you need close by. We stayed for two nights and thought it was fantastic. Google Maps gets you close but not quite there, and the local shop owners we asked didn’t know where it was either, so see the picture for help. The stairs take a bit of getting used to, but they’re manageable.

The owner was rude when I complained and offered us £20, saying it wasn’t World War 3 before hanging up. This was the worst place I’ve stayed. It was dirty, the bedding hadn’t been changed from the previous guests, and dirty pots had been left behind.

We lasted one night in this damp, filthy cottage before leaving to book a hotel. The bedding hadn’t been changed, there were dirty towels on the bathroom floor and no clean ones, and there wasn’t any toilet roll. The tea towel was filthy, and the TV had no reception. When we phoned the owner to complain, he was aggressive and very rude. Don’t be fooled by any “good reviews.”

We stayed for four nights in June. The cottage itself was fine, but I don’t recommend staying there because the host gave us wrong parking information and we ended up paying a fine. The host told us to park in West Cliff car park. I got a ticket because it’s pay and display, and scratchcards aren’t valid there. I should have checked the scratchcards myself, but I was in a rush because it’s difficult to stop outside the cottage to unload our bags.
