LilyRose Hotel

The room was tidy and clean, with basic furniture, though the bed frame and mattress could do with an upgrade. Check-in was quick and easy. An earlier check-in time without extra payment would have helped, or the option to leave luggage earlier in the stay. Take care around the en-suite radiator, as its position right next to the toilet could cause burns.

We just stayed at LilyRose Hotel and would definitely recommend it. The rooms we booked were clean, spacious and lovely, and check-in was straightforward. Parking was great and it's close to all amenities. We'd definitely go back. The only slight snag was the heating: we switched the radiator on when we arrived, but woke up to a cold room with no heating on. We couldn't find any indication of how the heating worked.

The room had clean sheets and towels, and even the sash window opened properly. It was just right for a night away and a few drinks. I picked this hotel because I'd stayed on this side of Whitby before. The key-code self check-in worked fine, and they let us arrive early, which was kind. We bought a parking scratch card from them and saved a bit, though finding a space took some effort. Thanks for having us 😁

The room was tidy and had a lovely view of the abbey, and the neighbourhood was quiet and well located. But the bathroom made a poor first impression: there was something that looked like chilli sauce on the windowsill beside the loo, and a long curly black hair was hanging from the shower door handle. The walls also seemed paper thin. We could clearly hear the guest next door snoring and flushing the toilet. Such a shame, because otherwise it would've been a lovely little room.
