We’re staying in apartment 4 now. The location is really good, but at £430 for 2 nights, it’s definitely not luxury. It wasn’t very clean and smelled awful, like sour milk. I cleaned out the fridge, so it must be in the carpet. It’s described as self catering, but there’s no kitchen sink, only one in the bathroom. It hasn’t spoiled our time in Whitby, but we wouldn’t book again.

The building and location are fantastic, but the bedding was filthy, stained and soiled. All you get is a useless travel kettle. The TV is on the wall facing the door, so it’s no use, and there’s no heating in the bathroom. It was freezing at minus 5. Whoever thought it made sense to put the shower controls in the bedroom got it wrong, and the shower flooded the bathroom. I’d book the Granby instead.

We booked two rooms, one of which hadn’t been cleaned at all and was disgusting. The other had been “cleaned,” but both bedsheets and towels had stains in different colours. We contacted the owners about the dirty room, but nothing happened for four hours. We had to call late in the evening before we finally got another room. The WiFi didn’t work, and the pillows were practically sheets stuffed with plastic. To be fair, they did have a nice gate.
