A Maiden Rest

Stayed four nights and felt very welcome. His wife makes the best breakfast in Weymouth, it kept me going all day. Thanks for such a lovely stay, and God bless until I see you again. I’ll book with them again.

The bay view was a lovely thing to wake up to each morning. Dean made us feel welcome straight away, and the room was spacious and very clean. Breakfast arrived piping hot and was delicious. We’ll be back as soon as we can, and I’d happily recommend staying here.

The location is hard to beat, just over the road from the promenade and the mostly sandy beach, which slopes gently into the sea. Weymouth has the usual seaside fun, with donkey rides, fairgrounds, ice cream and fish and chips on the beach. The room WiFi was patchy to nonexistent, though it worked well in the dining room, and staff were happy for us to use it there whenever we needed. We stayed three nights with our nine-year-old grandson in a family room at the back. It had a double and two single beds, plenty of space for all three of us, and the back was probably quieter than the seafront side. The Victorian house has wide, shallow stairs, which should be manageable unless mobility is quite limited. The room was nicely decorated with lovely pictures. There was tea and coffee, a kettle and milk, plus plenty of storage and towels. The bathroom had a shower and toiletries that were replenished daily. Breakfast was just right: we could choose the English breakfast items we wanted, cooked to order, and there were cereals, toast and fruit too. The staff were friendly, professional and courteous. I’d gladly book this lovely B&B again, even though we tend to try different places. It’s an easy recommendation.

We needed somewhere for the night after arriving Monday for a family funeral on Tuesday. They were accommodating and the price was good. The room was clean and comfortable, though the bed felt a bit too springy for us. Breakfast had generous portions and plenty of choice. We’d definitely stay again and recommend it.
