The stay itself was quite nice, and we would have been happy to leave a positive review. That changed after checkout, when the lead booker began receiving several abusive messages from the host. I’d strongly advise people to avoid this property. The dispute was about a parking permit. We said we’d left all the permits at the property as requested, but the host said one was missing. With five cars between us, since we live across the country, it was possible someone had taken it by mistake. We’d have tried to sort things out if he’d raised it calmly. Instead, the messages were angry and aggressive from the outset, and he gave us under two hours to respond before demanding money for a replacement. He also repeated claims from his cleaners that we’d left the house in an “appalling” state, which we strongly disagree with. We stripped the beds and emptied the bins as instructed. A house rented to ten people for a long weekend is bound to have some mess, but we don’t believe we left it in bad condition. The pressure and tone of his messages made it feel as though he was trying to get extra money from us, with no real effort to resolve the issue constructively.

We had a lovely weekend at the property, but afterwards the owner sent the booker intimidating, accusatory messages over a parking permit. We’d left the permits there, as requested, but he disputed that and tried to pressure us for more money. There was no sensible discussion about it. He also said the house had been left in an appalling state. We disagree: the beds were stripped and the bins emptied in line with the instructions he’d left. After that experience, I absolutely wouldn’t recommend staying here.

We were six friends looking for somewhere central with room to spread out, and this house worked really well. It was spotless, had plenty of amenities, and even had thoughtful extras like fresh bread and milk. Every bedroom had its own bathroom, and we could walk to the beach in just a few minutes. It felt very Covid secure, too. Steve was friendly and easy to reach. I’d happily recommend it.

Steve double booked the property, then let the client know only 36 hours before arrival. Even though that client had booked nearly six weeks earlier, Steve cancelled their reservation and gave the place to the other party.
