The Esplanade

The Esplande has exceeded all my expectations, and I’m incredibly fussy with high standards. The bed is sumptuous and so comfortable, with high-quality white fluffy towels and bed linen. The room is impeccably clean, well serviced, fresh, airy and quirky, and the bathroom is really spacious. I loved the beautiful stair carpets up to the rooms. I’m staying here now, and I’d come back in a heartbeat. Thank you for the lovely hospitality.

We were in the family suite on the top floor and loved the bay views. The hotel is lovely and friendly, with modern decor and comfortable beds. There was a great range of breakfast choices, delivered to our room because of covid.

Rob made sure we had what we needed throughout our stay, and the cooked breakfasts were delicious. He even upgraded us to a sea-view room at no cost, let us check out flexibly, and fitted in an extra night at short notice. The hotel has a character of its own and sits right by the beach, with pubs and restaurants an easy walk away. There’s also a guest lounge with a well-stocked fridge of drinks and snacks at fair prices. Simply superb.

Breakfast was generous and delicious, and there’s free parking. The location is handy, right in the town centre across from the beach. From the outside the hotel looks old-fashioned, but our room seemed to have been refurbished recently. I loved it and would definitely come back.
