The Old Castle

The food was superb and really good value, and the bar had a great atmosphere. I've stayed here a couple of times now, and it's been great each time. Everyone's friendly. I'd happily recommend it and look forward to staying again.

I was welcomed so warmly when I arrived and shown to my room. It's small, but well equipped, so that wasn't a problem. Breakfast was fantastic and filling. I only wish there had been an evening meal available, though the owners kindly offered cutlery for takeaway food brought back. The pub felt warm and friendly, and I was comfortable eating in the bar. I'll be back.

Good beer and a really nice beer garden. Dogs are only allowed outside in summer, which I understand. There's plenty of room at the back, including covered spots.

We didn't hear any noise from the pub below, and the room felt newly refurbished. It's a clean, comfortable place to stay while walking the South West Coastal Path, with an early cooked breakfast available. There's free parking, though the space is quite small. A little beach and the coastal path are under five minutes away on foot, and the old harbour is about a 20-minute walk along a quiet pedestrian route.
