The pub has a large car park and a good selection of beers, and there’s a bus stop right outside for trips into Weymouth and, presumably, back again. The food is standard pub fare, though breakfast had some nice freshly cooked options made to order. Our room was their best one, with a microwave, fridge, washing machine, full cutlery set, a big TV and wifi. The rooms are smart, and this was the best pub stay we’ve had. Highly recommend.

The beer was reasonably priced, but I’d only use this place as a last resort. I’d rather pay £50 more a night for a decent sleep and breakfast. Our room was tiny, the mattress much too soft, and I felt like I was sliding out of bed. There was a dirty glass in the bathroom and dust in places, so the cleaning needs more attention. The food was very poor. The ingredients seemed low quality and were badly cooked. Breakfast was the worst I’ve had in a long time, despite usually looking forward to it when I’m away for work two or three times a week. The menu was poorly written and misleading. Black pudding was listed but only available on Saturday. I ordered it Sunday and none arrived, and there was no orange juice either. We stayed over Easter weekend in 2026, and at 2 a.m. on Sunday the fire alarm woke us and we had to evacuate. Reviews suggest this has happened before.

The portions at Sunday lunch were really generous, and I loved that they brought extra gravy for the table. The staff were friendly and flexible with our requests, even while busy. We had a fabulous roast and will book again soon to try more of the menu.

We took both our elderly mums for Sunday lunch, and it was great. The staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating. Thank you!

1/10. The pub itself is cosy and friendly, and the staff were absolutely lovely. But my mum and I had booked a roast months ago after seeing the good reviews, and the meal fell well short. The food seemed pre-sliced and pre-packed, with frozen vegetables and potatoes instead of fresh home cooking. It was all tasteless and a waste of money.
