Timrick Lodge Hotel

The only part we really enjoyed was the entertainment hosted by josh. Amazing guy. Our stay itself was a letdown: the first room’s bathroom door wouldn’t open, so we were moved, but the shower in the next room had no light and swung from freezing to boiling in an instant. There were no TV channels even after someone tried to sort it out, and the room smelled of cigarette smoke. People next door kept banging on the walls while we were speaking very quietly, so I couldn’t even talk in the room.

For the price, the tiny room did the job as somewhere to sleep. It was clean, though not spotless, and the bed was comfortable. Tea and coffee were provided, the host was friendly, and dogs are welcome. There’s no designated parking, and the host isn’t on site around the clock. I’d stay again.

The owners were great, really friendly. Breakfast is served at another hotel, which would be useful to know from the online listing. The shower room was small, as you’d expect for what you pay, but a few hooks for towels would help without taking up space. I’d also have preferred our towels to be changed.

Breakfast is just a 30-second walk away at a sister hotel on the beachfront, so there aren’t food smells in this property. The rooms and bathroom were clean, the bathroom was nicely presented and had what you need, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It’s a great budget hotel in a great spot. Parking can be tedious, though that’s true of every hotel in the area. I’d stay again without hesitation.
