You can see the Abbey from this well equipped cottage, and it’s an excellent spot close to the centre of Whitby. It’s beside the railway track, though not many trains go by, so you can watch the steam trains. There’s Wi-Fi, a dishwasher, washing machine and airer, a full fridge and freezer, and a hairdryer.

We’ve spent two weeks here, and sadly we head home Friday. It’s an upside-down layout, with the living area upstairs and the bedrooms and bathroom with toilet downstairs. There’s also a toilet upstairs. The place has a good setup, including two sofas, a large wall-mounted TV, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge freezer. As the name suggests, it’s right by the track at Whitby station, so you’ll see and hear trains, but that’s part of the fun. There’s a nice view of Whitby Abbey, the river and the activity around Whitby.

I love Whitby, with its cobbled streets, sweet shops, cafés and pubs. The cottage is beautiful and has everything you need, plus more, for a lovely break.

Everything had been arranged with care, and we had a relaxing stay in a really convenient spot. As the new season gets closer, it was a nice extra to see the steam train outside.
