Host and Stay ltd. cancelled my booking just three hours before we were due to arrive. Five weeks later, I’m still waiting for the booking cost and the £250 security deposit to be refunded. They’ve been difficult to deal with and keep fobbing me off. I’d give zero stars if I could. AVOID!

We had a great trip and I’d highly recommend the apartment. It’s very clean, with modern facilities, and the location is excellent. The staircase is very steep, but that didn’t spoil our time in Whitby. Parking came with a ticket for local council bays. We were lucky to find a space just around the corner on the Riverside. The letting company sent quite a lot of messages before we arrived, perhaps more than necessary. I think I received eight.

Access wasn’t available until 6pm, and the stairs are very steep. There’s no security on the main door, and the insurance charge had to be paid before arrival and seemed dodgy. Communication was poor, with messages left unanswered, and there’s no parking despite it being advertised. Avoid at all costs. I’d give zero stars if I could.

The rooms weren’t very clean, and rubbish from previous guests had been left on the kitchen bench. The WiFi wasn’t working, and it’s a shame about the cleaner. Still, the location was super, the kitchen was well equipped, and the free toiletries were appreciated. Overall, a lovely visit.
