Loraine was a wonderful host during our stay at Manor View guest house at the beginning of August. She gave us a warm welcome, pointed out where to park and provided all the information we needed. The guest house is well placed, about a steady 12-minute walk from the harbour. We had a family room with a double bed, bunk beds and an en-suite shower. It looked over the front garden and its ornamental pond, and we slept really well. In the morning there was coffee, tea, fresh juice, toast, pastries and jams. I only wish I’d written this review sooner. Thank you for being such a lovely host.

Lorraine is lovely and friendly, and the house is ideally placed for the town centre. Our room was clean, nicely presented and had tea and coffee. The breakfast bar was well stocked, and having parking on site was a bonus. We’ve just got back from our stay and will definitely check in again.

Lorraine was a perfect host from my first enquiry right through to posting an item my daughter had left behind, going above and beyond. Our family room was ideal, spotless and well equipped. The breakfast bar was well stocked, and on-site parking was an added bonus. The hotel is within walking distance of the harbour. We’ll definitely stay again.

For £100 a night, I expected much more. The family room was very small, and the bathroom was tiny and grubby. Traffic on the main road into Whitby was noisy right outside the window, whose seals didn’t fit properly. On top of that, the landlady’s son was playing booming music directly below our room, so I went downstairs to complain. Breakfast wasn’t a full English, just cereals, toast and yogurts at a bar outside the room. I won’t be coming back.

The rooms were clean, and the location was ideal for town. We’ve just got home after staying at Manor View, and it was a great place with more than enough for breakfast. Lorraine is a pleasant, nice lady. I’d stay again.
