Park Dene Room only

The room was small with a double bed taking up much of the space, but it did the job. The separate private bathroom had some nice decorative touches, and the place was nicely decorated, though it isn't really a hotel and has no staff. No complaints, so I'd stay again.

This review is overdue from our September stay. We got a fantastic room, very clean and comfortable, with everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The hosts were friendly and welcoming. It's around a 10-minute walk to the main centre, and we'd happily stay again and recommend it.

Park Dene was immaculate and beautifully decorated, and we couldn't fault the hospitality. The hosts were welcoming and full of useful information. Our ensuite bedroom had comfortable beds, fluffy towels, tea, coffee and biscuits. Breakfast had an excellent range of healthy and more indulgent choices, and everything was delicious. It's easy to get to the beach and walk into town to see the sights. Other beaches, quaint villages, waterfalls and castles are an easy drive away. We'd absolutely recommend staying here.

This was our second stay, and sadly our last. The room wasn't clean: there were big clumps of hair in the drawers, the toilet brush was filthy and needed replacing, and there was mould in the shower corners. We met the owners last year and felt very welcome. This time, their website had crashed, so we had to knock on the door to check they'd received payment. Paul seemed distant and annoyed that we'd disturbed him, completely unlike the welcome we got last year. The location is good, around a 15-minute walk to the whale bone arch, but that isn't enough to bring us back.
