Saxonville Hotel

Breakfast was a real highlight, served by waitresses instead of the usual rushed self service buffet. No slow bread toasting machine holding everything up while your meal goes cold, either. The staff were lovely. Our room, 25, was spotless and had a partial sea view. It was up on the top floor, 37 steps, so mention it when booking if stairs are a problem. The bed was very comfortable with quality bedding, and I appreciated the robes and slippers. The bathroom lighting was good for putting on makeup, and there was a handheld magnifying mirror in the room, which is a detail I often miss at hotels. We booked a night in December to meet friends, and now understand the good reviews. It’s an old Victorian style building just off the main beach top road, well maintained and spotlessly clean. Free private parking opposite was handy. A lovely hotel with old fashioned charm and everything we needed.
