We spent Monday to Friday at The Stables on a winter package with bed, breakfast, and a two-course evening meal, celebrating my best friend’s birthday. It was a great location, just a few miles from Whitby, with lovely countryside views and plenty of peace and quiet. The staff were really lovely, the atmosphere relaxing, and the accommodation spotless, tastefully decorated, and had everything we needed. The food was exquisite, with a great breakfast selection, plenty of evening meal choices, and a specials board. There was a good choice of red wine, and I really enjoyed the Merlot. They genuinely welcome dogs, which was a big bonus. We visited Whitby, Saltburn, and Peasholme Park in Scarborough, about 20 miles away. We definitely recommend it and will be glad to return.

The two little dogs with us were treated like royalty, and this is a very dog-friendly hotel. We came for the Christmas three-night all-inclusive package and were welcomed by Amelia at reception on Christmas Eve. That first impression carried on throughout the stay, with kindness and efficiency from the whole team. The food was delicious, the service superb, and I saw staff give a disabled guest personal, caring help each day. It was an amazing experience, and we’ll definitely return. Several other guests told me they planned to come back too. The Stables is a wonderful hotel.

The food was fabulous, everything fresh and beautifully served, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We came for dinner as a family on a busy Saturday evening and the service was excellent. The place looked so lovely that now we'd like to stay overnight too.

My room was comfortable and clean, and I ended up eating here twice during my visit because the food was so good. The welcome was friendly, check-in was easy, and everything about the stay felt spot on. It really made my trip, and I'd happily recommend it.

We'd definitely come back. The accommodation was spotless, the food really tasty, and they cater properly for dogs. It's right opposite the park and ride when that's open. Whitby is about a 40-minute walk away, but the whole way is on pavements and it feels shorter.
