The staff were the highlight: professional, friendly, and relaxed. We ate delicious food in the restaurant and on the lovely terrace, with plenty of locally sourced ingredients. Breakfast had such a varied menu that we tried something different each day, and they even had sausages for the dog. The hotel is in quieter Tankerton, with lovely views, about a 20-minute walk from central Whitstable. We had a wonderful, relaxed trip and would say it’s well worth a visit.

We had a lovely stay for my husband’s and my birthdays. The hotel and location were great, and the staff were wonderful. Pasty really stood out. She’s warm, down to earth and attentive, and goes above and beyond to make sure everything’s right for you at breakfast. She gives a professional service and never seems to stop working. Many thanks, Donna and Gary.

The winter offer worked really smoothly: it included a contribution toward dinner, a bottle of wine and breakfast, and none of it felt awkward or limited. We were seated, asked if we wanted red or white, and our order was taken with ease. The food was surprisingly varied and high quality. Breakfast was just as memorable, especially thanks to Patsy’s warm, friendly, charming service. We hope to see her again when we come back in summer. We also loved the hotel itself, from drinks by the fireplace in the atmospheric bar to dinner in the beautiful orangery. It was a perfect winter break from London, and the service was excellent throughout. Dinner and breakfast were both great, and we couldn’t fault the stay. The sea is right across the road, with the quirky beach huts just a couple of minutes away. The bowling alley and high street are a short walk, while the castle and the Old Neptune are about 25 minutes on foot. We can’t wait to return.

The room felt a little tired in places, but it was still a nice spot to relax. The bed was the most comfortable I’ve had in a hotel for quite a while. Lovely staff, a great view, and a very nice cocktail and breakfast.

We all enjoyed Sunday lunch. The portions were generous, and the beef strips were cooked beautifully. We had the usual vegetables, plus pigs in blankets, cauliflower cheese and green beans. Highly recommended!
