The beds were super comfy, and there was plenty of tea and coffee in the room. It was a bit chilly, but they had a heater available if needed. The room was basic, with only a few TV channels, and a little dated, though that didn't bother me. It's an old pub, so that's what you'd expect. The staff were super friendly. The young lady who served breakfast was so nice, then got on with cleaning. People don't always realize how hard the staff work. The food was lovely and fresh, and I'd definitely recommend eating here or staying over. You could hear people in the bar in the evening, but it's a working pub. If noise bothers you, it might not be the place for you. It was quiet by around 10 or so, and it was a Friday.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, and we had some great food when we stopped for lunch while passing through the village. If we're ever in the area again, we'll pop in.

We booked a night at short notice on our way to Snowdonia. The place is falling apart and unclean. The bathroom had a slight smell when we arrived, but it got stronger through the night until we were gagging to get out. No shower and no breakfast, just leave. It felt like spending the night in a stinking urinal. I understand times are tough, but I feel I need to let the local environmental health people know about the state of the place.

We came for tea this evening, two adults and a dog. The atmosphere was lovely and the staff were friendly, but our food took an hour and a half to arrive and was a little flavourless. They apologised, though I think some compensation would have been fair, even just taking a drink off the bill.

Service was good when we called in for food and a pint. I ordered fish and chips and wish I hadn't, they were so greasy and sloppy, just horrible. The free curry was horrible too, and fruity. Sorry, it wasn't a pleasant meal and I felt sick all afternoon. Maybe the other meals were nice, but I can't recommend the fish and chips.
