The Buddle Inn

We brought our dog along, and it was lovely to find a pub where our four-legged companion felt just as welcome as we did. The staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and made the visit even more enjoyable. The food was outstanding, cooked perfectly, full of flavour and clearly made with care and quality ingredients. It's a place where you can relax over a proper, satisfying meal. We recently visited the The Buddle Smuggler’s Inn and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. It's in a beautiful spot, and the warm, cosy atmosphere makes you feel welcome straight away. Great food, lovely atmosphere and excellent service. We'll definitely be back and would recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Generous portions, and sitting outside with a view over the Channel makes this place a winner. We had a lovely meal there today, fish and chips and the vegetarian burger. The coleslaw is to die for.

The pub was uncomfortably cold in January, even with a lovely log fire, and I overheard others making the same comment. The room was warm once we drew the curtains, though. Staff were lovely, especially Emma ? The pub is in a very quiet location, the rooms are beautifully appointed, and the pub food, including breakfast, was really good. Pubs should feel warm and inviting, but sadly this one wasn't.

The room was clean and comfortable, with easy access to outside areas for the dog. It wasn't suffocatingly hot like so many places, and being able to open the bedroom windows was great. We enjoyed breakfast and stayed overnight with our dog. It's a welcoming pub with good beer and food, especially the pies, and a warm vibe. We'll stay here again.
