I stayed in the house at the front. The building and its old features have a lot of charm, and the walk out to the house was nice. The sheets were crisp and clean, and the towels were large and fluffy. But it smelled when we arrived, and it needs a good clean. There were lots of hairs in the washing machine, dog hairs on the sofa, and dirt under the plug in the nice new shower room. The bench outside might have a better view if moved to face the woods on the other side. It could be a lovely place.

Catherine and her Mum were amazing hosts, and nothing was too much trouble. It's a beautiful home, full of history and character. I'd happily stay again.

I loved Thrumster House and really wished we could have stayed longer. Catherine and her mother are wonderful, and the property is magnificent, full of history and character.

The house is full of antiques and has so much charm. We loved hearing about the archaeological digs nearby and on their own land, and had a lovely breakfast. The family who own Thrumster House made us feel very welcome. We only stayed one night last year, but it was one of the highlights of our trip. We spent quite a while by the fireplace chatting with them and their brother, who was visiting from the Orkney Islands. Our hosts suggested the local pub for dinner. We enjoyed the walk and talking with locals there afterwards. It was a magical place we still talk about, and I wish we'd stayed longer. We hope to return one day.

We stayed two nights in one of their cottages. It wasn't luxurious, but it was warm, clean and had everything we needed. Very peaceful, too. I was worried about keeping the bike safe while doing nc500, but there really was no need. I'd definitely recommend it and might stay again. Thanks 🥰
