We had supper here one evening, and it was delicious. Breakfast was fabulous both mornings, made with locally sourced ingredients. We stayed two nights and used three en suite bedrooms. They were extremely well furnished, with fridges, hairdryers and tea and coffee facilities. It was busy even on a Tuesday and Wednesday in May, and clearly a well run, successful business. We'd happily recommend staying, eating, or just popping in for a drink and a warm welcome.

Inside, it's a traditional pub with a big fireplace, and it's dog friendly. We'd come back if we're in the area. We arrived just before 2:30 on Sunday, and they squeezed us in before Sunday lunch service ended. The staff were really friendly and accommodating. The spiced butternut squash soup and brie wedges were good starters, followed by two beef roasts. The servings were generous, and everything was tasty and good quality.

Only seven minutes from the haven holiday park. The food and service were great, and the portions are huge. I'd recommend arriving hungry!

The portions were huge, and both meals were amazing. I had the homemade chicken and mushroom pie, while my husband chose the homemade chicken curry. It's a gorgeous pub with a lovely warm atmosphere, and the food was absolutely delicious.

The rooms were clean, though a bit tired. We paid £100 a night and were told breakfast would be offered in August, which made little sense when they had a kitchen and weren't fully booked. We'd stayed here twice before and had an excellent experience, including breakfast, but it's changed hands and there was no breakfast this time. We booked dinner with friends too. They had no white wine, were missing much of the menu, and didn't even have an egg for one person's gammon. Their explanation for the wine and menu gaps was, “WE WERE TOO BUSY TO GO OUT AND GET IT.” There was a Co-Op and a butcher 100 yards away. We booked in for sometime between 2 and 9, but still waited 20 minutes before being shown to our room, which obviously wasn't ready. Sorry this is long, but I don't want anyone else to be as disappointed as we were.
