The Fleur de Lys Inn

We made a proper mini-break of it, with a nearby walk, a visit to Messums and time to settle in and watch the rugby. The atmosphere was great for that, and the place is dog-friendly too. We’d absolutely come back. The welcome was warm and efficient, and the stay felt relaxed from start to finish. Our room was beautiful, had everything we needed, and showed thoughtful attention to detail. Dinner in the pub restaurant was a highlight, especially the venison, cooked just right. A lovely country pub hotel.

The bathroom light sensors were the one irritation. They’d switch off while you were in the shower, which was annoying. Everything else was a delight. The rooms had such thoughtful details, the pie was honestly the best pub pie we’ve ever had, and the staff were lovely, warm and helpful. Exceptional stay this weekend, and I’d highly recommend it. We had an unexpected 24-hour stay at fleur de lys and it was just perfect. Room number 9 was the cutest little room, and dinner was amazing. Best homemade gluten-free pizza I’ve had! Thanks for everything. What a lovely find, we’ll definitely come back for longer next time.

That sunset walk on the long, safe path nearby was unforgettable. The room was quiet and comfortable, and on arrival we were greeted with fresh milk and cookies, a small, thoughtful touch that made us happy. The parking area was neat and well organized, which was handy. Breakfast was included, excellent quality, and served with attentive, professional care. The staff were friendly, welcoming and very helpful throughout, with every interaction showing a high standard of hospitality. Everything at The Fleur de Lys was top-notch, and the service was far beyond what we’d expect from other hotels in the same price range. We’d happily return. Thank you for a fantastic stay!
