Old Orchard Apartments

The location is quite a way from the city centre, about a 40-minute walk through a housing estate. I regretted not paying a bit more to stay at Winchester Travelodge, which is more central and would have been a better experience. My partner and I spent a weekend in the Braeburn apartment and it was a big letdown. The layout and design are attractive, and the shower was decent, but the parking space was very tight. The car park was full except for our allocated spot, and even getting a little Ford Fiesta into it took a lot of manoeuvring to avoid hitting anything. Both TVs were largely useless. The living room remote stopped working after a couple of minutes, and the bedroom remote had no batteries. We bought batteries ourselves, but it still didn't work. The sheets seemed to have old, dried blood on them. Looking behind the bedroom dresser for a socket, I found a pad and a large clump of hair. I messaged about the TVs on the first night and got no reply. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

Really cosy, clean and tidy, with a lovely little private area. I'd look at booking again before too long. The only things missing were a grill pan and either a short extension lead or more sockets in one spot. Otherwise, it would've been five stars.

It was a lovely, quiet apartment with everything we needed. A few cobwebs and spider friends, plus a squeaky bathroom door handle and a drippy tap, but we'd come back, hopefully without the spiders.

Admin was first class all the way through. The apartment was clean and well equipped, and it's very close to the city centre and lots of local attractions. One of the best apartments we've stayed in.
