All Seasons Rest

I emailed the hosts because no confirmation email had come through, and they confirmed my stay. But I never received an access code for the key lock box. I waited outside for an hour until another guest arrived; they had two keys in their box. I think one was for our room, but I still have no idea to this day.

The price felt outrageous for rooms this basic, and I couldn't get a decent night's sleep with what sounded like water running through the pipes all night. The staff were rude and unhelpful, and weren't even on site. When I asked about storing luggage, despite what the website says, all I got was a half-hearted apology and a suggestion to leave my things at a tourist information centre. What a joke. This so-called “hotel” was a nightmare. The owners should seriously reconsider whether they belong in hospitality. Save yourself the hassle and avoid it. It isn't worth a penny, let alone what they're charging.

The one good thing was the location, close to the train station and convenient for getting around Windermere. The rooms were fine, but very basic for the price, with no laundry or other services and very little offered overall. Communication with the owners was only by phone, which made the stay feel impersonal. Their website says they can hold luggage, but on arrival we were told they couldn't because they weren't on site. They offered no luggage options for checkout either. We also asked for a second duvet and either the request was ignored or they couldn't provide one. I wouldn't recommend All Seasons or go back.

We had a pleasant stay, and this was by far the cleanest place we stayed during our trip. It was really comfortable too. Michelle was kind enough to let us pay in full on the day because we were having trouble with online payment. She was very responsive and accommodating about the stay, though less so when we asked about the place and buses. The downside was no microwave for reheating food.
