Green Gables Guest House

The cheerful, helpful staff even had us laughing over breakfast, and the Full English was lovely. We were only there for a night and wished we could have stayed longer. Our family room was comfortable and well equipped, and the owners were such friendly hosts. We left with smiles, feeling we'd had genuine British hospitality.

We stayed four nights in the family room. Its bathroom was across the hall and just for our use, which was completely fine. Each morning we had a delicious full vegetarian breakfast and a friendly chat with the hosts. They made a real effort to look after and entertain everyone. Gilly, the lovely ginger Northern Irish lass, was a barrel of laughs and made perfect fried eggs every morning, as promised, a special mention! We also got an unexpected Valentine's Day gift of chocolates, drinks, and candles in our room. The stay surpassed my expectations. Thank you for such a delightful visit, I can't recommend this place enough.

We only had a day in Windermere, but the stay was lovely. The room was larger, so our bathroom was across the hall, reserved for us alone and accessed with a key. Beds were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was included, incredibly tasty, and served in a beautiful dining room. The owners and staff were so kind and did everything they could to make us comfortable. It's very close to the station, shops, and restaurants.

Breakfast was nice, and the room was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and made us feel welcome. I struggled to work out the shower setting for warm running water, and the room was like a sauna because I couldn't turn the heating down. Still, it was a lovely place to stay.
