We stayed from the 13th to the 16th of February and had a brilliant time. The owner welcomed us and was really nice. There's a lovely front room for guests, though sadly we didn't get to use it. The room was stunning, even better than the online pictures, and the view was amazing. Watching it snow over the mountains and parts of the village made the scenery look like a film. Breakfast was fantastic, especially the bacon muffins and beans on toast. The staff made a point of chatting with everyone, which stood out to me as someone who works in hospitality. We'll definitely be back next year, or sooner!

We had a great stay over Valentine's weekend. The hotel was spotless, and the staff were excellent, taking time to chat and check everything was OK. Lake Windermere is 1.5 miles away, about a 20-minute walk downhill; we took an Uber back for £6. Bars and restaurants are within a five-minute walk, though for more choice I'd head into Late Windermere are and look up Albert Pub, which is central to them. Thanks for looking after us. The breakfast had a good range of options and was brilliant, and everyone we spoke to on staff was warm and friendly. Our room was clean and a good size, with a nice bathroom and lovely shower. Free parking was a bonus, and access to the pool, sauna and gym just five minutes away was amazing. We also got clear, useful communication before and during the stay, so we knew what we needed before arrival. A perfect place to stay in the Lakes. We'd happily return, thanks for a great stay!

We had a lovely stay and would definitely come back. The room was cosy and the bed very comfortable, and the location right in town made it easy to get to restaurants, bars and nearby walks, with others just a short drive away. Saturday's breakfast was the one letdown: my husband's full English was overcooked, and my porridge was like raw oats in warm milk rather than creamy. The next morning's crumpets and scrambled eggs were much better, so maybe the chef was just having an off day.

My stay at Holly Lodge was brief but really memorable, as it was my first visit to England. I hope I can return to Windermere and stay here again. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was great, including my first full English breakfast. I'm especially grateful to Kristy, who helped me call a taxi on my last day after my train was cancelled.
