After a hike, this was just the place to stop for tasty food and great local ales. We may have enjoyed it even more because we were so hungry after the walk! 😄

We stopped in for tea and had a fantastic meal, with brilliant service. My turkey roast was superb, served with two kinds of potato and five vegetables. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, and dogs are allowed too.

We had a beef roast with all the trimmings and a steak cooked just right, both absolutely delicious. The bar staff were really friendly and told us a lot about the building's 200 year history. Couldn't rate it more highly. We'll be back, Debbie and Carl, to try your homemade sticky toffee pudding.

Even though we arrived after 20.00, they welcomed us and found us a table for food. I'm gluten free and had one of the best meals, and everyone else in our party loved theirs too. Such friendly staff. We'll be back next time we're in the Lakes, and I'd definitely recommend this place.

The menu is mostly pub classics, freshly cooked and presented really nicely. The Pie of the Day is well worth trying. There isn't a huge pudding selection yet, though I expect it may grow as the business gets going. The Sun Inn is open again with new management, and this time it looks like it could last. Friendly staff, good food and a great location. It was quiet when we arrived, then got busier later.
