We spent five winter days in beautiful rooms, tucked by the fireplaces and cosy sofas, and honestly didn’t want to leave. You could order food and drinks at any time of day, and everyone made us feel like friends and family. Such a special, unique place. We loved it. A big thank you to Sham, and to Alex Eagle. Lots of love to my partner Daniel, and especially his lovely brother Tobias for recommending it to us. ❤️❤️❤️

The parlor was a lovely place to relax after a day out, with tasty food and drinks in a cosy setting. Oakley Court was one of the highlights of my two-week trip around England and made the whole experience feel magical. I found the rooms beautiful, carefully designed, and really comfortable. The beds made it hard to get up in the morning. Check-in was easy and welcoming, and the staff were attentive and friendly throughout, with a real focus on making the stay memorable. For a visit to the area, I’d highly recommend Oakley Court for its surroundings, comfort, and service. Five stars.

I’ve visited this hotel many times over the years and usually get such a lovely welcome. Today was completely different. The man we dealt with was dismissive and very rude. We came in as we’ve done before and asked for a table for coffee or a place for lunch, but were made to feel as if we were being thrown out.

It used to be a lively, happy, welcoming hotel, which makes the way we were treated such a shame. We were refused even a soft drink or coffee because we weren’t staying there, despite there being almost no guests around. The location can’t make up for how cold the reception is for people dropping in. The manager also quietly told my young son not to touch a mature willow tree by the river, without speaking to me first. That struck me as lacking common sense and added to the unwelcoming atmosphere. I can’t see things changing until the people running the hotel move on.

I was looking for somewhere for a business lunch and Oakley Court looked ideal online, with its beautiful setting and appealing atmosphere. After about ten minutes on the website and menu, I called to check availability and learned that the hotel is currently for residents only. That may be the policy, but it would help to say so clearly at the top of the dining page. Advertising lunch and restaurant bookings gives the impression that non-residents can book too. A little clarity would save people time and some mild frustration. Hope this feedback helps.
