The Old Mill Barn

We had an enjoyable evening, but would probably look elsewhere next time, though don't be put off. The cottage is easy to reach beside a fairly busy road, yet you wouldn't know it from inside. The setting is okay, but there's not much nearby, so make the most of your time there. The rooms are an okay size for a cottage. I'm 6'4 and couldn't stand upright in much of the upstairs, just an observation. The kitchen is well equipped, but remember to leave dishwasher tablets. We didn't use the pool, so can't comment on it. The hot tub was better than an inflatable one, but not perfect. We couldn't figure out the temperature controls, and there were no instructions. After we got out, an error flashed saying the water was too low. There was no hose, so we had to refill it using pans from the outside tap or we couldn't have used it again later. The wiring looked dubious at best. Parking is in a small gravel area for two vehicles. My car and our friends' car are both quite large, so we worried about fitting, but it worked out, helped by the empty cottage next door. I do think the price is too high overall. Check-in starts at 4pm and checkout is 11am, which works out to around £28 an hour. We enjoyed the evening, but would choose somewhere else next time.
