The rooms were cosy and clean, and the housekeeping team were kind to both my child and puppy. The cleaners in the main house were friendly and gave them lots of attention too. We also had great service at the Japanese restaurant, where Jeff was fantastic. Those were the few bright spots in three stays over three months. I gave the place several chances, but the chaos and lack of customer care kept getting in the way. On our latest visit, check-in was badly delayed. We were sent back and forth and waited around 50-60 minutes, while people who arrived much later were helped straight away. This was meant to be a special trip for our daughter's birthday, and the delay made us miss the bath experience and postpone an activity for her. Service continued to be slow. We waited 30-40 minutes just for a menu and a simple drinks order. After we asked for a menu at the 10-minute mark, someone said a colleague would come over shortly, but no one did. All three visits also involved billing mistakes. Each time, we had to chase reception nearly a week after leaving to get the final bill corrected. There seemed to be little interest in the guest experience. My child is a fussy eater, so I asked room service for a simple cold cheese sandwich, just bread, butter and cheese. They said that was fine and repeated the order, but sent a complicated grilled cheese with very strong mature cheese, covered in shredded Parmesan. It went to waste, my child was still hungry, and I was charged for the incorrect order. I won't be back. We had considered buying gift vouchers for family members as a wedding present, but we won't now. Don't waste your time and money.
Clemmie gave us a lovely welcome at reception, then Svitlana and Morizio upgraded our room and showed us around, explaining the spaces and facilities with real warmth and professionalism. They made arriving feel special, and we’re grateful to all three for such kind service. We’ve only just checked in at Estelle Manor, but it already feels like a wonderful start to our trip as a couple. The country house hotel and private members’ club sits on a historic Grade-II listed estate in the Oxfordshire countryside, with parkland and gardens around it. There are elegant bedrooms, different dining options, a Roman-inspired spa and wellness area, padel courts, and more to explore. It’s a beautiful blend of old-world charm and modern comfort, and we’re looking forward to the rest of our stay. Thank you again, Karl & Shani Mcardle
We made time for a few activities during our two nights at Estelle Manor, and archery was especially fun. The food was fantastic too, with the Asian restaurants standing out and every meal exceeding what we expected. The property is beautiful and felt like a romantic escape. Our stay was incredible from beginning to end, and we’d gladly return. Definitely worth visiting.
I've been a member for several years, but the club keeps closing several times over the summer. When it's open and I want to eat, the restaurants are fully booked. Booking a paddle court is practically impossible, even weeks ahead. Honestly, they seem more focused on making money and bringing in weekend guests than looking after members who pay a lot in fees for a club they can't use. Not worth it.
The grounds, reception rooms and spa are lovely, and the property has a clear vision and plenty of potential. But the service didn't match the price. Some staff were welcoming and professional, while others seemed unsure and inexperienced. Check-in and checkout were especially disorganised, with long waits that took the shine off the visit right away. I was also overcharged. The issue was eventually fixed, but it's not something you expect to have to sort out at this level. Since many Google reviewers mention billing problems too, it seems like a recurring issue rather than a one-off mistake. It's a shame, because Estelle Manor is beautiful and has so much going for it. Inconsistent service, messy front-of-house operations and billing problems are holding it back. Better staff training and tighter management could help it live up to its setting and ambition.
