The Rose Revived By Chef and Brewer Collection

The Festive menu had loads of choice, and the food and service were both excellent. There were nine of us at our Christmas staff lunch at The Rose Revived this week, with everything pre-ordered, including a few changes to remember. Thanks to Cat and the whole team for a lovely time. We’ve had a few Christmas staff lunches over the years, and this is one of my personal favourites. It definitely got us into the festive mood. I’d absolutely recommend it.

We all enjoyed our meals, and every plate was licked clean. Our group of 15 came with family to celebrate a wedding anniversary, and the service from Kat, Danielle, Lucy, Ellie and Sammie was lovely and prompt. The orders were all right, food and drinks came quickly, and the servers checked back often to see if anyone wanted more to drink. Afterwards we took a stroll by the river, enjoyed the picturesque views and got a family photo. Thanks for a lovely lunch/dinner!

We only stopped in for a quick drink, but Rosemarie suggested trying the new dessert menu. We had the lemon cheesecake and triple chocolate brownie, both so delicious and beautifully presented. I’m afraid nothing else will ever compare. What a beautiful place to stumble across.

The place has a nice atmosphere and the service was good, but the food isn’t good enough for its price. Packet mashed potatoes are a point where I’d rather walk away. I understand the cost of living, but serving a powdery, claggy, bad-tasting substitute instead of simply mashed potato is a real letdown. Very disappointed.
