We paid £6 for 24 hours of parking, and I wasn't happy with the stay at all. Dust was everywhere, the lift wasn't working, and the rooms and toilets smelled bad. Cold air came in through the windows even when they were shut. I put the make-up-room tag out, but all I got was towels; nothing else was touched. I complained about all of it and was offered free breakfast next time. I won't be going back to Travelodge. I'd spend a little extra and stay somewhere good.

The bed was super comfortable, the room was large and clean, and the staff were lovely. We were right by the railway station but heard very little noise. There were plenty of refills for the tea, coffee and milk, and breakfast was hot and kept being replenished. I'd seen mixed reviews, but this was one of the best Travelodge stays we've had. 5*****. Well done.

Everything about the room, staff and location was perfect, but the car in the car park put a huge shadow over our stay. For both nights, it sat in the same spot with its engine running and VERY loud music playing for three hours. We could hear it over the TV with the windows shut. I don't know why it was there, but it had gone by 10pm both nights. Maybe it was a local pick-up point, if you know what I mean.

The location was good, the bed was comfortable, and the room was OK and tidy. That's about where the good points end. The bathroom was tiny, especially for a family, and the bath would suit someone 4ft tall. The food looked bland, so I didn't try it. Doors slammed at all hours, and there was a strong cannabis smell. The 30-minute free WiFi is rubbish. Parking costs £6 a day, and there are only about 20 spaces.

I've stayed at lots of Travelodge hotels, and this is the first where the bar wasn't open. The public areas and lift were dirty, and there wasn't enough parking. I also didn't get a very warm welcome. I was 15 minutes early for my early booking and was firmly told to wait.
