Britannia Hotel Wolverhampton

The place felt dark and unwelcoming, with a strange vibe, and the whole hotel smelled terrible. The bathroom smelled like sewerage, so badly it made me feel sick. The rooms were outdated, the TV was extra small and about 10 miles from the bed, and the beds were pretty small too. The customer service wasn’t terrible, but it was dry, without much personality or a welcoming feel when I arrived. It was overpriced for what you get. I’ll never stay there again.

For a one night stay, the price suited what I needed. My room was fairly quiet, which I liked, and the mattress was reasonably comfortable, though a bit firmer than I’d prefer. Using both pillows helped, the second one is usually in the wardrobe. It’s a fairly decent low budget hotel near the railway station. I wouldn’t recommend drinking the tap water, so bring your own drinks if you can.

The room was clean and lovely, with comfortable beds, tea making facilities, a television, and a hair dryer. The bathroom was big and had soap and hair/body wash, though you’ll want your own conditioner. Service was friendly, and I had a pleasant stay, though I didn’t use room service. It’s on a main road, so there can be some noise outside. I didn’t find it a problem personally, and I’d recommend staying here.

The location is good, it’s cheap, and the staff are very nice. That’s about all the good I can say. It really is the weirdest hotel ever. It’s dilapidated, and even basic things like checking in and out took ages. There were holes in the carpet and small stains on the bedding. It just wasn’t nice or well run.
