The outdoor area and pods coming off the conservatory look amazing, and there's a big kids' play area across from the pub's main car park. Inside, the new bar and seating areas look great, and the conservatory was surprisingly cool in today's 31oC heat. The food and menu are really good value. Even the gents' toilets look great and feel unique compared with other pubs. What a change since my last visit, everything has been updated! The bathroom in the rooms has been updated too, and I look forward to seeing what they change in the rooms next. Looking forward to staying again. Till we meet again, The Boot Inn!

The menu made it hard to choose, and the chilli beef was a great pick. The Katsu and Lasagna were fantastic too, with really generous portions. The place is clean and nicely updated, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The kids' high chairs are brilliant, tiny versions of old-fashioned pub chairs. We paid £99 for four adults and two kids, including drinks, which felt more than fair. The Google photos are really old and don't show how it looks now. We came to the area and found that pub and restaurant reviews were mostly negative, but this one looked good from outside and had better reviews than the rest. No complaints at all. Thoroughly recommend it, and we'll definitely visit again if we're back this way.

For my mum's 70th birthday, I had saved up to take her for a nice meal. I was embarrassed and extremely disappointed by how the evening went, and the occasion was ruined. We won't be returning. We were seated and ordered quickly, but drinks took a while and the starters arrived nearly half an hour later. They were tasty, at least. After that, service slowed further. We were there for two hours and only had two courses. The mains took over half an hour, after we'd already waited 40 minutes, and the "Crispy beef" was soft, not crispy. Both lasagnes were stone cold inside, so dense they cut like cake. We sent them back, and when they came back the tops were burnt black. Mine was still only lukewarm inside, so I ate just the top half. The other was warmer in the middle but burnt on top too. We were offered just one more round of drinks in the two hours. Another table's steak on a stone filled the conservatory with smoke, as if something had caught fire. When the extraction fans finally came on, they did little to clear it. The table behind us opened a window, leaving me really cold with my back to it. We skipped pudding and just wanted to go home. When I paid, I was told, "things have gotten away from us a bit", with an apology, but no refund or goodwill gesture.

I've been here a few times over the last few months, and it's always been amazing. The fishcake starters are top tier and the portions are generous. I've had Sunday roasts, pizza and Thai curry, all really good. Service is always friendly, and the restaurant has a cosy interior.

I moved away and hadn't been back since the refurb, though this had been my favourite pub for as long as I can remember. I got my friends to travel over for the £10 Sunday Roast deal, and it was such a letdown. My beef was full of fat, the food was bland, the gravy watery, and they'd run out of sides. Service came with a grunt, and the sauces we asked for arrived after I'd finished eating. The place has lost its charm, which is such a shame. I miss the old Boot, and really hope they can bring it back to how it was. 😢
