Liongate House

Liongate House feels like a second home to us, and we wouldn't stay anywhere else when visiting family nearby. This was our third extended holiday there this year. Liz and Graeme are wonderful people as well as exceptional hosts, and they know the local area inside out. Their restaurant suggestions and tips on things to see and do were really useful. The B&B is a peaceful oasis, spotless, comfortable and unusually well equipped. Breakfast is fresh, varied, plentiful and delicious every morning. Liz uses top-quality ingredients, bakes her own bread and cooks each breakfast to order. We travel around the world for about half the year, and our stays with Liz and Graeme are among the most pleasant visits we have.

Breakfast was amazing, with lots of homemade and locally sourced food. The guests there while we stayed were repeat visitors, which says a lot. Liz and Graeme make you feel welcome, and there's parking on site. The rooms and bathroom are clean and spacious. In the room, the hospitality tray has a choice of teas and coffee, and there's shower gel and shampoo/conditioner in a handy shower dispenser.

We enjoyed delicious breakfasts in the beautiful garden on both mornings, which guests are welcome to use. Liz and Graeme couldn't do enough for us. The rooms have a great selection of little extras on the hospitality tray and in the bathroom, and the house is comfortable, well presented and well maintained. It's an easy walk to a couple of places to eat. This was our second stay at Liongate House, and we'll certainly return when we're back in the area. Thanks, Liz and Graeme. Jo, Gordon & Liam x

Breakfast was delicious both mornings. I had fresh fruit with yogurt and honey, followed by a superb cooked breakfast, all fresh and served with coffee and orange juice. Liz has several kinds of jam ready for anyone who likes plenty of choice on their toast. We stayed two nights at Liongate House for a wedding at a nearby venue. The room was very clean and had everything we needed, including a very comfortable bed, tea and coffee with biscuits, and extras like cotton pads, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. A guest fridge under the stairs was a welcome surprise, stocked with Coke and similar drinks, beer and fresh milk. Liz and Graeme were wonderful hosts, ready to help with anything and making us feel at home straight away. It's clear they care about all the little details, and they deserve every success. If you're looking for somewhere to stay around Ilchester, this should be your first choice. You won't find a more welcoming pair of hosts. Hopefully Tottenham Hotspurs will have success soon too, Graeme! Thanks to you both for a lovely stay.
