The food was spot on and cooked to perfection, and the staff had everything so well organised. We held my Dad's 80th birthday luncheon at The Pen Mill hotel on Saturday for 16 people. Communication beforehand was superb, and we went in advance to look at the area we'd be using. The staff were incredibly helpful, and there were no errors or problems on the day. Thanks to everyone, especially Tom, Lucy & the other great staff. Highly recommend it, the food was lush.

I've enjoyed some nice meals here before, but this lunchtime meet-up with friends was disappointing. Nearly everything on the snack menu had some kind of cheese. The lunchtime menu had more options without cheese, but I didn't want a large meal. An extra £1 for a GF roll seems a bit much too.

My husband had the rib eye steak, cooked perfectly, while two of us went for the two-course specials, which were fantastic value. We came for his birthday lunch today and felt welcome and relaxed from the moment we arrived. It was fairly busy, but the waitresses were lovely, helpful and attentive, and the meals came promptly. There's lots to choose from, including plenty of homemade specials. Looking forward to visiting again. It's my new favourite place to eat!

The food was good, with such a wide choice of vegetables. It was my first visit, and we tried the carvery. Our only criticism was the noise and the queue of people passing very close to our table, since we were seated near the carvery. They need to keep an eye on that so diners can eat in peace. The staff were very friendly.

Tina and Charlene served us afternoon tea and were really friendly. The food was delicious, and we loved the place too. It has several rooms, cosy chimineas glowing away, live music, and spectacular decor, including artwork and taxidermy heads on the walls. It's an amazing place!
