There was plenty of room in the accommodation, and the host was friendly and accommodating. The centre is about a ten-minute walk away. We had a great stay and would recommend it.
The media room and games were a big hit with our adult children, and we all slept well in the comfortable beds. The house was beautifully presented, with plenty of everyday cleaning and bathroom supplies, so we didn’t need to shop for those things. We also found it easy to get in touch with the hosts, who answered our questions quickly. For parking, the owners have a convenient arrangement with a local guest house for £10 a day. Once the car was parked, we could walk to the centre in about ten minutes. There’s a lovely high street nearby for breakfast before a day out exploring York. The house made a great home away from home, with easy access to the city. We’d definitely recommend it. We live in Australia and will be back next time we visit the UK.
We used the parking suggested by the hosts, which was close by. The cupboards had useful basics like milk, oil, salt and pepper, which you don’t always remember when self catering. The kitchen was well equipped, and the rooms were spacious with the whole place exceptionally clean. It was a lovely house for our weekend in York, near the centre and the Christmas market.
Claire and Alistair were wonderful hosts. Their beautiful home was well equipped and exactly as described, with great restaurants and cultural attractions within walking distance. It made a perfect base for exploring York. I can’t wait to come back and stay again.
We had nine people and a dog between both houses, 107 and 109. They were clean, warm, comfortable and spacious, with roomy kitchens and basic cooking gear for making dinner. Check-in was easy, and the board games kept us entertained. A Sainsbury's Local is just a stone’s throw away. The location is near the train station and you can walk to the city centre. The downside is that each house has only one toilet for five or six people, so you have to make do.
