Burn Hall Hotel

The food and service are fantastic, and EV charging is a handy bonus. The rooms are clean and tidy, a little basic but comfortable for an old hotel. I've tried many hotels around the area, and this one is right up there for value and service, as well as being easy to reach from York. The team make my weekly work stay a breeze, starting with check-in. Tom is a great part of the food and beverage team, always friendly and chatty. Nikki handles bookings wonderfully and efficiently.

The hotel was spotless, and the staff were amazing, kind and friendly. My room was exceptionally clean, with a very comfortable bed and most modern conveniences covered. The shower was fantastic, though I was terrified I'd set off the smoke alarm and get fined. Breakfast was excellent, with good tea and coffee, but I hadn't realised I could pre-order vegetarian food; there was no information on the table or in the room. There was plenty of parking. The place is a little tired, but the cleanliness made up for that. There was no USB connection in the bedroom, and we'd forgotten our adapter.

The breakfast was very good, with the usual full English, cereal and toast, and vegan options were available on request. Our room and the staff were both excellent, and we had a nice large bathroom. The reception staff gave us a lovely welcome. You'll need a bank card for a £0 deposit on the room. We stayed one night. The location is just far enough from York that getting in wasn't a problem, though we drove to the train station because parking and riding in by train was much cheaper. There's plenty of parking, and you'd struggle without a car. The phone signal was very limited, and the Wi-Fi in our room was weak and often crashed, but that wasn't enough to mark the hotel down.

Callum made the service feel perfect, and everyone was so warm and helpful. We came for a weekend and had a lovely time. The food was fresh and cooked really well. Nothing to complain about, we’d absolutely come back.
