Gordon was welcoming and made it easy to relax. Our room was a good size and clean, with a seating area, Sky TV and an ensuite. It took around 20-30 minutes to walk into the city, and you can take the riverside route. Great value for money. I can’t fault the place, would highly recommend it and would stay again.
8/10
The room was a good size and clean, and the shower worked well. Off-road parking is handy, and getting to and from York by road is easy, though the city centre is a bit of a hike. The decor feels dated, and the bed wasn’t great, with an old spring mattress.

Gordon was a great host, and there was no hurry to check out. Since the room wasn’t booked again for our departure date, he told us to take our time. York city centre is a short bus ride away. A great find, and I’d definitely stay again next time I’m in York.

I was given a ground-floor room because I’m using a walking stick at the moment. The front door is quite narrow for anyone with a disability. Inside, the decor is dated, but the place was clean and tidy.
10/10
The host was very welcoming, and it’s a great place to stay. The city centre is about a half-hour walk away. There’s a cafe just down the road for breakfast, and Iceland and Aldi are nearby.
