Novotel York Centre

The pool and sauna were a lovely way to unwind. The 30-minute slots worked really well, especially during the school holidays, as they helped prevent overcrowding. Our room was spacious and clean, with a super comfortable bed. We had a fantastic stay with my partner. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and looked after. Dinner and breakfast were both delicious, served hot, and brought promptly by friendly staff. Thanks to everyone who made it such a great stay, especially Kai, Pete, Sarah, Rehka and Daggi, and Kate, who I got to say hi to!

Karl, our waiter, deserves extra thanks. He took time to get to know us, kept the conversation going and made dinner with colleagues a memorable evening, full of wine, good food and laughter. The hotel was clean, with good amenities. The beds were comfortable, breakfast had plenty of choices, and all the staff were extremely helpful and attentive.

We started our US holiday at Novotel York, and the stay got off to a warm start. Booking was easy, and the staff were helpful and accommodating at every step. We had dinner after checking in on our first night, and the lovely chats with Kai made us feel welcome right away. Our room had chocolate treats, biscuits and balloons waiting for us. After long days around town, it was cosy to curl up and watch movies cast from my phone to the TV using Google Cast. The pool was fun, the sauna relaxing, and breakfast was delicious even when busy during the school holidays. Thanks Kai, Pete, Dagi and Rekha for being so sweet and kind. We'll definitely stay here again on our next visit.

The staff were friendly and helpful the whole time, and the location was great. It's about a ten-minute walk into town, either along the main road or the lovely river path at the back. Parking was expensive, but it's hard to find in York. The charge was per night, which I've heard is better than at other hotels that charge by the day, and it covered us until midnight on our last day. We stayed two nights. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. It was a little odd having the toilet separate from the sink, but easy enough to manage. The bath and shower had strong water pressure and plenty of space. The room was warmer than I'd like, and I wasn't keen on their temperature system. The air purifier was a nice touch.
