The spa weekend was such a treat. The facilities are modern and lovely, with three saunas, two steam rooms, and a beautiful pool and hot tub. Our room was clean, gorgeous, and luxurious, and everyone at the hotel and spa was incredibly attentive and friendly. It’s an easy four-minute walk from the station, on flat, accessible ground. I’d happily come back and recommend it to family and friends. Thanks so much to the lovely staff :)

We’re already looking forward to another visit. The Grand Heritage Suite was brilliant for our few days, and the staff made us feel welcome from the start. They were helpful and polite, and room service was spot on. Breakfast also made it easier to leave that ridiculously comfortable bed. Before check-in, everything from valet parking to spa access had been explained clearly, days ahead. A great hotel with a great team.

Breakfast was faultless, with loads of choice including vegan options, and the cheerful staff were efficient and happy to help with anything. We also enjoyed drinks in the busy bar one evening, and they were delicious; the atmosphere was great. The rooms were peaceful, comfortable, and spotlessly clean. From the moment we arrived for our two nights, the service stood out. Reception were friendly and knew so much about places to visit, eat, drink, and shop. We had a wonderful, relaxing stay and will definitely return. Thank you, everyone.

The location was superb, and we walked to everything throughout the day. Our room was large, nicely decorated, and very quiet, just as requested. The historic building is beautiful without feeling old or creaky, and the bellmen were always warm and polite, looking after us morning and night. Breakfast each morning was lovely, so I’d recommend adding it to your stay. One fun thing for kids is visiting the fourth floor to see the hotel bees that make honey for the food and drinks. I’d also like to find out more about the cooking school on site. We couldn’t use the pool or spa because both were fully booked, and we hadn’t been warned when booking the room that we needed to reserve ahead. That was disappointing, though I suspect the facilities are nice. If you’re after luxury, this is a great place to stay. We’d return. Thank you!

The rooms are roomy and mostly clean, but could use some care. The desk in ours had chips missing from its front. Cleaning was visibly good elsewhere, but coffee from the previous guests was spilled down the side of the dresser, and the team missed it. They also left us without milk both times, so we had to ask reception twice. The staff were otherwise lovely, especially the man at the front desk, who gave us plenty of information about the area. The location is great, and I’d recommend the hotel, though I wouldn’t call it five-star. Parking is £49.50 a night. They describe it as concierge parking, but the car park is right in front of the hotel, and we could have parked faster ourselves, so we skipped the expensive option. Spa access costs extra too. I’ve stayed at other five-star places that make the bed twice a day, stock fresh milk instead of limited UHT, and include most things. This is a grand four-star. Go in expecting that and you’ll probably be more satisfied.
